Job Summary
Berwyn Early Learning Academy (formerly BUMNS) is launching a full-time, year-round early childhood education program, serving infants through Pre-K. As our Director, you’ll be a driving force behind this transition, helping shape and implement a new vision while preserving the warm, nurturing culture families have long cherished.
The ideal candidate will bring an owner-operator mindset, ready to experiment, dream big, and take initiative in identifying resources, selecting curriculum, and implementing marketing strategies that grow the program. This role is about more than management—it’s about building something lasting and meaningful from the ground up

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of a full-time, year-round program from infancy through Pre-K.
- Oversee curriculum planning and daily operations aligned with state standards and high-quality early childhood practices.
- Recruit, hire, and support teaching staff and assistants.
- Manage budgeting, tuition structure, and financial planning in collaboration with church leadership.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Pennsylvania DHS regulations, including licensing, safety, and STARS participation.
- Implement marketing and outreach strategies to achieve and sustain enrollment targets.
- Cultivate a strong, inclusive community culture for children, families, and staff.
A Director must meet one of the following educational qualifications as set forth by Pennsylvania DHS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field, with 1 year of experience working with children.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field, and 2 years of experience working with children.
- Associate’s Degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field, with 3 years of experience working with children.
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field, and 4 years of experience working with children.
Experience
- Demonstrated success in launching or expanding a full-time, year-round early childhood program.
- Proven ability in marketing, enrollment management, and community engagement.
- Strong leadership and communication skills in both team management and parent relationships.
- Comfort with multi-tasking and problem-solving in a dynamic and evolving environment.
