Order of Worship for Sunday, June 30th 2024

Leader: Lord, we come to worship you in spirit and in truth today.
People: May we hear from you as we give you praise.

Leader: Some of us have come seeking your will for our lives.
People: Give us a spirit of discernment to know how we can reach out to those who need our help.

Leader: Time is of the essence.
People: We do not wish to tarry but to be ever present in the lives of your people. We thank you for the ways in which you will use us this week in our community.

Leader: God of possibilities and abundance, we praise You for reminding us not to live in scarcity but to live in Your presence. We thank You for the countless blessings You have placed in our lives, for Your unending grace, and for the love that surrounds us.

All: Yet, despite Your generous gifts, we confess that we often turn away from Your call. We have failed to love our neighbors as ourselves, neglected the needs of the poor and the oppressed, and have been quick to judge and slow to forgive. We have allowed fear and doubt to overshadow our trust in You, clinging to our own understanding instead of seeking Your wisdom. Please hear the confessions of our hearts that we bare before you.

(Silent Confession)

Leader: Merciful God, hear our prayers. We ask for Your forgiveness and for the strength to turn from our sinful ways. Transform our hearts and minds so that we may walk in Your light and serve as instruments of Your love and peace. Grant us the courage to follow where You lead and the compassion to reach out to those in need.

All: In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Leader: Beloved in Christ, know this: God is merciful and patient, abounding in steadfast love. When we seek forgiveness with contrite hearts, we find it. Through God’s grace, our sins are forgiven, and we are made new.

All: Your sins are forgiven as well. Let us build our beloved community together. Amen.

God, receive what we offer today. Bless it, break it, and with these resources, send us out to feed your people in the ways that they need feeding and in the ways that we are equipped to feed them in this present moment. Thank you for always giving us enough to do the work of love and service that you would have us do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
