Prayer of Confession
Gracious and loving God, you call us to follow the way of Christ, the way of humility, service, and self-giving love. Yet we confess that we often choose another path. We seek recognition rather than relationship. We pursue status rather than service. We want to be first rather than last. We hesitate to kneel, to serve quietly, to love without being noticed. Hear also the confessions of our hearts as we seek your forgiveness.
(brief silence)
Forgive us, Lord. Wash away the pride that separates us from one another. Cleanse the parts of our hearts that resist your way of love. Make us willing to follow Christ’s example. Teach us to serve with joy, to love without condition, and to live as people shaped by the humility of Jesus. Amen.
Words of Assurance
Leader: The good news is this: in Jesus Christ, God does not turn away from us. Christ comes to us in love, washes us clean, and calls us friends.
People: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven, renewed, and sent to love one another. Thanks be to God. Amen.

Offertory Prayer
Gracious God,
you have shown us your love in Jesus Christ,
who knelt to serve and taught us a new way of living. Shape our lives as you shape these offerings.
Teach us to follow Christ not only in what we believe,
but in how we love, serve, and care for one another. May all that we give—
our resources, our time, and our lives—
be used for the work of your kingdom. In the name of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve, we pray.
Amen.
