Order of Worship for Sunday, August 30th 2026

Leader: God has brought us out of bondage and called us into freedom.
People: We come to worship the God who sets us free.

Leader: God calls us to put aside everything that competes for our hearts.
People: We come to love God with all that we are.

Leader: God calls us away from endless striving and invites us to rest in grace.
People: We come to trust the God who holds our lives and our world.

Leader: Come, let us give God our attention, our praise, and our love.
People: We worship the Lord our God.

Gracious God, you have loved us, called us, and set us free, yet we confess that we do not always put you first. We give our attention to things that cannot give us life. We try to shape you into the God we want you to be. We speak your name without allowing your love to shape our lives. We fill our days with activity and struggle to trust you enough to stop.

Forgive us, Lord. Turn our hearts toward you again. Teach us to worship you alone, to honor your name, to trust your goodness, and to rest in your grace. Set our hearts free to love you with all that we are. Amen.

Leader: Hear the good news: the God who gives these commandments is the God who first says, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.” God's grace comes before our obedience. God's love comes before our response. God's freedom comes before the command. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and made new.

People: Thanks be to God. Amen.

God of every good gift, you have given us life, freedom, grace, and even the gift of rest. Receive these gifts as an expression of our love for you. Free us from believing that what we possess or produce defines us, and teach us to trust that everything we have rests in your care. Use what we offer to share your love, grace, and freedom with the world. In Christ's name we pray. Amen.
