Order of Worship for Sunday, July 13th 2025

Prelude

Welcome

Call to Worship

Leader: In a world aching for kindness and justice, God calls us to act.
People: Not just to believe—but to live our faith with compassion.

Leader: Come, people of God, called to love, to serve, and to follow.
People: We come to worship the One who meets us in the faces of “the least of these.”

Leader: When we feed the hungry, visit the sick, and welcome the stranger—
People: We offer our hearts and hands to Christ himself.

Opening Hymn

Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee UMH 89

Prayer of Confession

Loving God, You formed us for relationship—with you, with one another, and with all creation. Yet we confess the ways we have broken those bonds. We have clung to self-reliance and ignored the call to community. We have walked past pain, spoken words that wound, and held tightly to what we should have shared. Forgive us. Heal us. Send us.

In these moments of silence, hear the silent confessions of our hearts as we seek your mercy.

(Silent prayer)

Amen.

Words of Assurance

Leader: Even when we turn away, God draws near. In Christ, grace meets us, forgives us, and calls us back into communion with God and neighbor.
People: We receive this mercy with grateful hearts and open hands. Amen!

Gracious God, You have given us everything—life, breath, and hope. As we return a portion of what we have received, may these gifts be used to draw others into your mercy, to feed bodies and nourish souls, and to reflect your love in our world. Amen.
