Prelude

Welcome

Call to Worship

Leader: We have been called to freedom through the grace of Jesus Christ.
People: Let us use our freedom to love and serve one another.

Leader: The world may teach us to answer anger with anger and division with division.
People: But the Spirit calls us to patience, kindness, gentleness, and peace.

Leader: Come, let us worship the God who welcomes us, transforms us, and sends us into the world.
People: May our lives bear the fruit of God's love!

Opening Hymn

Where Charity and Love Prevail UMH 549

Unison Prayer

Gracious God, you have welcomed us into your family and called us to live in the freedom of your love. Yet too often, we allow the anger, fear, and divisions of the world to shape our lives more than your Spirit. Open our hearts to your transforming grace. Teach us to respond with patience when we are frustrated, kindness when we encounter hostility, and gentleness when we disagree. May the fruit of your Spirit grow within us, so that others might recognize your love through the way we live. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow UMH 95

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Generous God, all that we have is a gift of your grace. As we offer these gifts, we also offer ourselves to your transforming work. Use our resources, our time, and our lives to bring healing where there is hurt, peace where there is division, and hope where there is despair. May our generosity bear witness to the freedom and love we have found in Jesus Christ. Amen.
