Prelude

Welcome

Call to Worship

Leader: Come, let us gather to praise the one whose streams of mercy call us to worship.
People: We come with hearts tuned to sing God's grace.

Leader: Our God has brought us to this place.
People: We celebrate Jesus, who sought us when we were lost, and saved us with His precious blood.

Leader: Daily we are in need of God's mercy and grace. We rely on His goodness to bind our wandering hearts to Him.
People: we are prone to wander, but in this moment we offer our hearts to God, asking Him to seal them with His love.

Leader: Come! Let us worship!
People: Thanks be to God. Amen.

Opening Hymn

Come Thou Fount UMH 400

Prayer of Confession

Have mercy us on, O God, according to your steadfast love. For we know our sins which are always in front of our eyes. We have not loved you as deeply as our own heartbeat. We have failed to care for your body and for the whole of creation. Forgive us. According to your abundant mercy, blot out our transgressions and cleanse us. Restore to us the joy of your salvation and sustain in us a willing spirit. Free us to know joy and gladness and to live our days in praise.

Words of Assurance

Leader: In turning to God and His infinitite grace, you will find forgiveness, wholeness, and the power of the spirit to grow in holiness.  May you receive the blessing of conquered sin in your life.
People: Glory to God, Amen.

Offertory Response

Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow UMH 95

Offertory Prayer

Holy God, in this moment of offering, we acknowledge your timeless presence and boundless love. As we bring forth our gifts, may we be reminded of your unwavering faithfulness and steadfast guidance in our lives. Grant us the wisdom to heed your call to worship and live out our faith with humility and grace. Amen.

A Litany for Father’s Day

Leader: Our Lord Jesus Christ called God his heavenly Father and Joseph his earthly father. Let us come before our heavenly Father with our gratitude, praying for God’s blessing and offering up all our experiences with our earthly fathers in prayer.

Gracious God, we pray your blessing upon the fathers, step-fathers, adopted fathers, and grandfathers of our lives.
People: Good God, bless our fathers.

Leader: We pray for your blessing upon our uncles, brothers, mentors, and friends who have been our examples and role models.
People: Bless them, O Lord.

Leader: We pray for your strength for men who are tired and weary each day, yet feel the weight of responsibility upon them.
People: Strengthen them, O Lord.

Leader: We pray in gratitude for the fathers who have cared for us, protected us, guided us, and taught us.
People: We thank you, O Lord.

Leader: We lift up the imperfections of our fathers, who tried the best they could, who did not know how to try, and who made mistakes along the way.
People: Forgive them and uphold them, O Lord.

Leader: We pray your blessing upon the men in our lives that they will follow the example of Joseph, the father of Jesus, to live godly, creative, and loving lives.
People: We thank you, O God, and we bless you.

Leader: We bless you for the care we have received and ask that you will hold us in the totality and complexity of our experience. We have known joy and care, and we have known failure and pain. Turn our hearts to you that we may see you as our perfect, heavenly Father, from whom all life freely flows. In the name of Jesus, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns one God in glory everlasting.
People: Amen.
