Prayer Chain
I know not by what methods rare,
Prayer is important to the spiritual life of our
congregation. We have a Prayer Chain which is a
network of individuals who receives prayer requests
(concerns and thanksgivings), forwards them to the
rest of the network, and prays immediately for each request. But this I know, God answers prayers. I know that He has given His Word, Which tells me prayer is always hear, And will be answered, soon or late, And so I pray and calmly wait. I know not if the blessing sought Will come in just the way I thought; But leave my prayers with Him alone, Whose will is wiser than my own, Assured that He will grant my quest, Or send some answer far more blest. (Eliza M Hickok, "Prayer," Best Loved Religious Poems, ed. James Gilchrist Lawson, New York: Fleming H. Revell Company, 1933, p. 160) Over 20 members of Berwyn United Methodist Church have committed themselves to intercessory prayer. You may contact the Prayer Chain at any time and know that your request will be passed along immediately to those who will commit your prayer to God. In order to respect privacy, permission from the individual, the family or the pastor is required to place a name on the Prayer Chain. Requests given to the pastor or the church office are passed along to the Prayer Chain and are listed in the Sunday worship bulletin. Names stay on that list for a 3 week period unless a Prayer Chain request is repeated and the time is extended. People with prayer requests and interested participants in the Prayer Chain may call Liz Kirkland (610-688-5373) or Ann West (610-687-0222) or email annwest@comcast.net or the church office. If you'd like to be part of this exciting ministry, just let Ann or Liz know.. |
