Pastor's Bible Study
In the middle of a busy week, the Pastor's Tuesday Morning Bible Study offers a time for prayer, study, and companionship. It's a small low key kind of study led by Pastor Rodney. Enjoy lunch with our study. Don't miss this opportunity for a great time of fellowship and learning. You're welcome to bring a bag-lunch to continue fellowship afterward. The Tuesday Bible Study starts at 11:30 a.m. in the church Parlor.

We Are Beloved Lenten Book Study

Alpha
You are invited and encouraged to participate in 6-week Lenten journey, which follows stories of Jesus' experience of God's love. We will focus on the book, We Are Beloved, by Kristen Vincent. We will meet every Wednesday for 6 weeks, beginning Wednesday, March 4, 2020. Soup will be served at 6:30 pm and the Lenten study will begin at 7:00 pm.

Christians often have the head knowledge that we are beloved, but deep in our hearts do we truly believe it? When we encounter Jesus in scripture, we tend to hear Jesus' words with judgment, thinking we cannot be beloved because we will never measure up to God's standards. However, the example of Jesus break this false understanding and allows us to discover how deeply beloved we are. Just as Jesus learned of his belovedness, we, too, can cultivate the wisdom and knowledge that we are deeply loved.

Each week begins with a scripture passage, a weekly devotion, reflection questions, an optional prayer bead experience, and a listening meditation.

Be transformed by God's love this Lenten season.

"The Quest"

This summer there will be a six week summer Bible study starting June 12. We will be studying The Quest by Beth Moore. The Quest is a cross between a curriculum and a journal, between a classroom and a prayer closet, with three primary objectives:
1. To promote deeper intimacy with God.
2. To help foster a sojourner mentality to aid as comfort that we are only passing through this world on our way somewhere else. This is not our home.
3. To foster an adventurer-mentality as royal subjects of royal blood unrecognized by the world but headed to an unshakable kingdom worth the arduous trip.

All are welcome to attend. The study will be held at Berwyn UMC 140 Waterloo Ave.
