ETC - Every Topic Considered
ETC (Every Topic Considered) is an adult Sunday School Class that seeks to nurture learning and understanding of scripture, faith and life. Its participants learn about world of the present and the past. They also think about ways to address critical issues for Christians and members of the United Methodist Church. Differences of opinion are always welcome! There will always be questions and many divergent answers. LTQ

ETC is studying the series “Living the Questions”, an introduction to progressive Christianity featuring 30 of today’s leading religious voices.

While “Living the Questions” does not provide pat answers to pressing questions about God and faith, it does more than just ask questions. In conversation with a wide variety of biblical scholars, theologians and other scholars in the field of religion, Living the Questions offers participants a broader context in which to formulate their own answers.

Biblical literalism and blind allegiance to ancient creeds and traditions are impossible for many modern educated people to continue believing. Living the Questions asks us to consider the hard questions that lead to faith. It's especially powerful for those of other traditions who are just astonished that we're allowed to talk about these things in church, allowed to ask questions.

We meet in the Library on Sundays at 9:10.
Walk-ins are welcome.
Study materials are provided.
